BOZEMAN, Mont. - Isaiah Chambers accounted for four touchdowns as the Montana State Bobcats opened Big Sky Conference play with a dominant 40-0 victory over Weber State on Thursday night at Bobcat Stadium.

Chambers, a junior quarterback, threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 67 yards and two scores. The Bobcats' defense was equally impressive, holding Weber State to just 169 yards of total offense.

"This was a great team win," said MSU head coach Brent Vigen. "Our defense played lights out, and Isaiah was efficient and made plays when we needed them."

The Bobcats took control of the game early, scoring on their first three possessions. Chambers connected with Lance McCutcheon for a 16-yard touchdown pass on MSU's opening drive, and then ran for a 1-yard score in the second quarter. Matthew McKay added a 26-yard field goal to give the Bobcats a 17-0 lead at the half.

MSU extended its lead in the third quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run by Chambers. The Bobcats then put the game away in the fourth quarter with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Chambers to Kash Sutton and a 1-yard touchdown run by Garrett Coon.

The Bobcats' defense was dominant throughout the game, holding Weber State to just 54 yards rushing and 115 yards passing. Patrick O'Connell led the defense with eight tackles, while Daniel Hardy and Amandre Williams each had six tackles.

The victory is MSU's second in a row and improves its record to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Big Sky play. Weber State falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The Bobcats will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Greeley, Colorado, to face Northern Colorado. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. MT.
