What's Happening?
*The FDA has issued a Class I recall for jalapeno peppers, the highest risk level.
*Ohio-based RS Hanline and Company Inc. initiated the recall in cooperation with Wiers Farm Inc.
Affected Products
*The recall includes fresh jalapenos sold under the Aldi brand.
*Other affected products include green peppers, serranos, poblanos, cubanelles, green beans, and organic bell peppers.
Reason for Recall
*The peppers may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause food poisoning.
Symptoms of Salmonella
*Symptoms typically appear within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food.
*Common symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal cramps.
What to Do
*If you have purchased any of the recalled peppers, discard them immediately.
*Do not consume them, as they may be contaminated.
*Contact your healthcare provider if you experience symptoms of Salmonella.
