Meghan Markle was born on 4 August 1981 in Los Angeles, California, United States. She is the daughter of Doria Ragland, a social worker, and Thomas Markle, a lighting director. Markle grew up in Los Angeles and attended Immaculate Heart High School. She then went on to study theater and international relations at Northwestern University.

After graduation, Markle worked as an actress, appearing in a number of television shows and films. Her most notable roles include Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits and Tess van De Kamp in the historical drama The 100.

Marriage and Royal Life

In 2016, Markle began dating Prince Harry of Wales. The couple announced their engagement in November 2017 and were married in May 2018. Upon her marriage, Markle became the Duchess of Sussex.
