The Los Angeles Lakers put together their most complete and dominant performance of the season Tuesday night in a 121-109 victory at home against the Golden State Warriors in a pivotal Game 3 of the teams' first-round playoff series. The Lakers took a 2-1 series advantage despite missing superstar LeBron James (ankle).
Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 30 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists. Russell Westbrook added 18 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists, while Dennis Schroder came off the bench to score 19 points.
The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry's 27 points, but he was just 9-of-25 from the field. Klay Thompson added 25 points, while Jordan Poole scored 18.
The Lakers took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors 39-22. Davis was dominant in the paint, while Westbrook and Schroder provided a much-needed boost on offense.
The Warriors made a run in the fourth quarter, but the Lakers were able to hold on for the victory. Davis hit a pair of free throws with 1:05 remaining to give the Lakers a 119-107 lead, and the Warriors were unable to get any closer.
The Lakers will now look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead when they host the Warriors in Game 4 on Thursday night in Los Angeles.
